Our registration is very detailed, everything is multiple selections (just scroll, point and click) we have three separate search fields that must be fill out for best results. Your insurance and license information is up to you, If you want to fill out that part of the registration - some state & cities require that information be made public when promoting your company. Search term definitions Project Types - for homeowner tools search information only Residential Contractors - for commercial & contractor tools search information only. Commercial Contractors - for commercial & contractor tools search information only. Separating the the search options and terms helps eliminate confusion and wasting anyone's time (i.e., the wrong contractor being contacted.)  A quick explanation; The term "projects" used in the homeowner tools has limited search options e.g., Drywall installation Drywall patch / repair Painting interior Painting custom finishes The term "residential contractor" used in the commercial tools, has a more detailed search options e.g.,   Residential drywall  patch / repair Residential drywall hang and finish     1-5 boards Residential drywall hang and finish    5-25 boards  Residential painting interior Residential painting interior - New construction Most homeowners don't know or even care how much drywall they need they just need it fixed.  Most don't realize their is a difference in painters, those who paint their house when it was built and those who paint it after its built.  Remember you can always make change to your profile in the view/edit your current profile in your menu at anytime. ***If you do sales and installation= You may also want to register as a supplier, the only place we offer the search feature of - sales and installation is in find a supplier. The find a contractor search will only show contractors who do installation   What about lead fees? Do you charge for leads? We don't offer a lead fee service so you will never have to pay for lead fees. Why pay for a lead that has been emailed to everyone else already?  You will never have to pay for lead fees percentage fees commission fees pay per click fees additional state, city and category listing fees never have other ads "wrap around" your profile we have just one monthly fee, and no additional fees   Membership Advantages With your Membership in the Contractor Tools you will be able to: search or post for employees use our contractor classified ads view all of the posting boards view, edit and update your profile at any time search for residential or commercial suppliers list all the trades and subcategories you perform   develop your company profile with details and pictures list all the states and cities you serve at no extra charge search or post for residential and commercial contractors search or post for residential and commercial subcontractors  with the contractor classified ads you can post for full time employee's be viewed by all homeowner tool, commercial tool and contractor tool members. use the talk forum for general discussion or ask other professionals for advice never have other contractor ads "wrap tight" around your profile (on the top, bottom, left and/or right side) while being viewed by potential clients they see only your profile. Go to View/Search by Member Id  in your menu and select contractor, enter member Id #343 and see for your self. That also will give you a good view at what a profile looks like.    Advantage to searching for a contractor What is the advantage to searching? you are in control view their ratings view their company profile view their insurance profile get the result instantly - no waiting view comments by them and others. be as detailed in your search as you like contact them or search and view other company profile simply post your need and have the contractors contact you select the type of supplier you want | Residential or Commercial select the type of  contractor you want | Residential or Commercial select the type of subcontractor you want | Residential or Commercial fill out a report card on any contractor you have used (coming soon) view pictures (if submitted) and a link to their website (if they have one)   Advantage to posting your needs Post your needs, the advantage. Many companies that serve and maintain our homes, business and commercial properties don't refer to themselves as a contractor by definition. In response to that we have included the term Service Companies to our search options. Examples of service company types:  alarm companies, architects, dumpsters, engineers, home inspectors, interior designers or decorators, maid service, moving companies, pest control and portable restrooms just to name a few. View our Contractor Definitions Are you going to sell my e-mail address? Are you going to sell my information? No we will not. We will never turn any of your information over to a spam service. Our site is a working site not a collect and sell information site. We make our money off of membership fees and advertisers, period.   Do you guarantee the contractors on your site? Are the contractors guarantee? No, we provide you with as much information as they give us. This is a informational site only it is still your responsibility to verify all information with your local city, state, check references, Better Business Bureau and any other resource you may have. Do I have to register mulitiple times? With your membership you will be login for every area you are allowed access to. This includes the contractor classified ads and the talk forum. You will have to register separately for the: The Contractor Blog Page is free for all of our members. However you will need to have a seperate user name and password. | This gives you the option to blog for your company and/or yourself. (please see the blog page for more information) Advertiser you will also have a separate user name and password for the advertiser login only. (please see the advertise with us page for more information)   *Direct links listed in your menu for your convenience.   Can everyone view my profile? Can everyone view my profile? Yes, that is the point of the contractor tools for everyone to be able to search for your trade and find you. If you don't want your profile viewed or searchable you will need to register in the homeowner tools or the commercial tools those memberships are private.   Can I change my user name? I need to change my user name, can I? No, your user name once select and the submit button click it can not be changed. If you must or need to change your user name, you will have to register again.   How do I change my password? I need to change my password? Log-in using your current user name and password from your menu select view/edit your current profile at the bottom of your profile click edit profile go to password (you are in the registration page) type in new password go to bottom of page click submit   I am a contractor, can I register in the commercial tools? I am a contractor, can I register in the commercial tools? Yes, you may register in the commercial tools and search or post your needs for a contractor. BUT if you are goal is to register in the commercial tools to be contacted by commercial property owners THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN. You must register in the contractor tools. There is no way your company can be found in a search from the commercial tools or any other tool without you being registered in the contractor tools. After completion of your registeration you will have full access to your membership advanatages. ***CONTRACTORS, NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO FIND YOU OR VIEW YOUR YOUR INFORMATION IF YOU REGISTER IN THE COMMERCIAL TOOLS.***   I manage a commercial property can I use this part of the site? I'm a commercial property owner, can I use this part of the site? Yes, Using this part of site will give you access to search for subcontractors not available to you in the commercial tools.   If I become a member will I be allowed to advertise in the banner areas? Can contractors advertise in the banner area? Yes, We are here so you can get as much exposure as possible everyone is allowed to advertise.   Am I allowed to be listed in as many categories as I want at no extra charged? List for free in all categories, really? Yes, You can but we strongly urge everyone to only select the trades and subcategories they are truly good at you don't want to get a bad report card for selecting something you know very little about, it can be a double edge sword so select wisely.   If I become a member will I be allowed to become a member of any other organizations? Can I be a member of other organizations? Yes, We are just another tool in your tool box our goal is to help build your business.   Do I have to have insurance? Do I have to have insurance to become a member and be view by the general public? No, but you will need to be honest when filling out the registration form and there the general public will be able to view your profile and know what your insurance status is. If we find out you said you have insurance and you don't, we will edit your profile to show you don't and/or you maybe band from our listing. ***some cities & states don't require insurance for certain services performed***    What if I get insurance after I have joined, can that be changed? Can I update my insurance profile? Yes, You will be able to add or change any information to your profile at any time in the view/edit your current profile area in the menu. Always keep your profile up to date.   Do I have to give my license and insurance information for all to see? Do I have to show the world my license? No, You may give as much or little information you want the public to know. You may simply type in "YES call for further info" in any of the insurance / license questions. The reason the information is public is to give your future clients a little more security and some cities and states require that information be posted publicly, IE business cards, trucks, advertisements...   How much does it cost to become a member of Contractor Tools? Whats the cost? $45.00 a Month or $420.00 a Year   Do you guarantee I will get to bid on jobs or get work if I join? Do you guarantee I will get to bid on jobs? No, We do not guarantee you will get to bid on any jobs or get any work if you join.   Do I have my own web address or website? Do I have my own profile web address?
